Welcome to my photoblog!
About Jarrett Gorin:
I am 37 years old and I live in Santa Barbara, California. I have been making fine art photographic images since the beginning of 2004.
My work attempts to capture subjects that would typically be considered ordinary, or even ugly, and to present these subjects so that their pure aesthetic qualities may be appreciated. By discarding widely accepted ideas about what subjects are "worth photographing", I have found that it is possible to see and experience beauty in things and scenes that regularly go unnoticed.
I am currently represented by pieces fine art of Los Angeles, California. If you are interested in purchasing a limited-edition archival print of my work, or commissioning a project, please contact Melissa Menard at pieces fine art with your inquiry. If you want to contact me, you can send me an E-mail.
What this is:
This is my "photoblog" or "photographic web log". I attempt to post new images regularly, so check back often!
My first post was on October 15, 2005. This was the first time I had ever published my photography online. Since then, I have been privileged to have over 200,000 unique visitors to this photoblog. Many have provided me with feedback and encouragement, and some have become good friends of mine.
In February 2008, I began working with number5design to develop a formal "gallery" site, which should be up and running in July 2008. Although the "gallery" site will become my main form of online presentation, I will continue to maintain this photoblog. I enjoy the interactivity that the photoblog format allows for, and I always appreciate comments and/or constructive criticism. I hope that you enjoy the images that I post here!
